The Crystal Red Shrimp line that we are familiar with originates from JBB, and is called "Pure Blood" by the Japanese. Then breeders in Taiwan brought the JBB to cross with their shrimp and marketed it as PRL. Taiwan's PRL usually has whiter porcelain than JRB, and because of crossbreeding with domestic shrimp for fast propagation, low-grade PBL often has a problem of producing Golden or golden porcelain. The higher the PRL rank, the lower the rate of Golden appearance in later generations is to almost zero. The S, SS, and SSS classification for PRL is also a ranking system that originated in Taiwan and is rarely used by breeders in Japan. As such, the golden problem only occurs with PRL.
Breeding PRL is the same as breeding crystal red shrimp. Female shrimp will carry the eggs for about 30 days until they are hatched to miniature size of their parents. It is important to have a well established aquarium in order for the shrimplets to survive as they can only consume biofilms until they grow older.
