Kumbuk pods are dried seed pods from the Terminalia arjuna tree, commonly used in aquariums and terrariums as natural, functional decorations that mimic forest environments, providing hiding spots, foraging areas for invertebrates and small fish, and releasing safe tannins that color water. Sourced from Sri Lanka and safe for bioactive setups, these pods add nutrients and encourage natural behaviors for amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates like isopods and springtails, creating a rich substrate layer
SIZE: They vary in size, yet average around 4-5 cm in length These pods will leach some tannins into the water over the long term.
PREPARATION: You need to gently soak Kumbuk pods for at least an hour in cold water (sometimes a bit more) to really saturate them, because they do float when first immersed.
