Scientific name: Taeniacara Candidi
Origin :Taeniacara Candidi was described by Myers in 1935. This fish was first described in the Apistogramma genus as Apistogramma weisei, but later described in their own genus, Taeniacara. They are found along the Amazon River to the Tapajos River. This little fish is found in the lower Rio Negro River as well. Other common names they are known by are Torpedo Cichlid and Weise's Dwarf Cichlid
They primarily occur along shallow riverbanks with very soft acidic water. They hide in the dense coverage of rocks, roots, wood, and heavily overgrown vegetation.

Temperature: 22 – 29 °C (25°C preferred)
pH: 4-7.0 (In the wild) Our fish are bred and grown at a ph between 5.0 and 7.0
Diet: Primarily carnivorous and apparently feeds mostly on benthic invertebrates in nature. In the aquarium live and frozen foods such as Brine shrimp, Daphnia and Blackworms should be offered regularly although most specimens will also learn to accept dried alternatives with pelleted products generally preferred to flake.
