Tibetian red eggs:

Tibetian red eggs are a brine shrimp egg sourced from lake Namtso, this salt lake is the largest salt lake in Tibet. The eggs and the brine shrimp hatched from these eggs are about 4-5 times bigger than standard eggs. This makes the eggs an absolute favourite of mine seeing that even larger fish are going absolutely crazy for it.

Also one of the biggest benefits of the Tibet Brine shrimp is their amazing hatch rate at lower temperatures. This means you don't need to struggle with a heater in your hatching kit year round! Due to their bigger size though they can take a little longer to hatch with the ideal hatching ratio being around 36hours at 21-25 degrees Celsius.

HATCHING GUIDLINES:

Use 20 grams of sea salt (non iodised) per litre of water. Ideal hatching temp 21-25 Celsius. Hatching time 28-36 hours.

The hatching process is the exactly the same as normal brine shrimp. for information on hatching Brine shrimp eggs watch the following video.

The Benefits Of Using Brine Shrimp As Food

Brine shrimp are an incredibly efficient and energy-rich source of food. In fact, the amount of protein in brine shrimp can be up to 60 percent of their dry weight. This makes them the perfect choice if you need food to facilitate the growth of young fish.

Their protein content is the primary reason why brine shrimp are such a popular food choice in the aquarist community. However, there are quite a few other benefits as well.

  • They engage the hunting instincts of your fish due to their spastic swimming motions. This is good enrichment for your fish, and fun to watch! Many aquarium fish species naturally feed on similar small critters.
  • Brine shrimp are easy to eat and easy on the the digestive systems of your fish.
  • Due to their salinity tolerance, you can use them as food in both marine and freshwater tanks.
  • They rarely contain diseases that can be passed along to your fish, unlike many other live foods sold in aquarium stores.
  • Freshly hatched brine shrimp are very tiny and make a great food source for fish fry that are too small to eat anything else.

Storage:

Brine shrimp eggs need to be kept in a tightly sealed container free of moisture, below 10C. Refrigeration is recommended for short term (3-4 weeks), freezing recommended for longer term storage.

Worth it

Was recommended these on a Facebook group page - more expensive than eBay ones, but the hatch rate is just so much better. Cost more but I have to use less eggs to get the same or better yield. Definitely worth it. Will be buying again.

Great hatch rate

After being disappointed from trying to hatch other branded eggs. These actually does what it claims, giving a high hatch rate. Good quality product and excellent service.
