''Cuppa Blackwater Aquariums'' are hand filled teabags of botanical materials with predictable, safe, natural colour-producing effects on the water. Each ''Cuppa Blackwater Aquariums'' teabag contains a carefully-selected combination of botanical materials that have been combined for their abilities to impart specific colour tones into the water.
In addition to aesthetics, the use of botanicals is known to impart some health benefits to fishes. They are known to contain humic substances, tannins, and in the case of some leaves, substances like flavonoids, which are known to support antibacterial activity, saponins, which are thought to stimulate immune responses, and a suite of antioxidants.
In water with little to no carbonate hardness, ''Cuppa Blackwater Aquariums'' may lower pH; however, the degree to which it will do so depends on a variety of factors, and experimentation is required.
PREPARATION: Just like a cup of tea! bring 500 ml water (RO water preferably) to the boil dunk in a teabag and let the liquid cool down completely. No straining no worries! Use as extra tannins while doing a water change or just to add extra tannins to your aquarium.
''Cuppa Blackwater Aquariums'' can be re used up to 3-4 times so you will definitely get bang for your buck. When reusing some additional boiling might be required to achieve the desired tannins. Also like with a real "cuppa" the colour of the tea will be slightly lighter after every re-use.
